Ocrila

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 25, 2026

This policy describes how Ocrila handles information in connection with its SMS program, through which restaurants that use Ocrila’s AI phone-answering service can text a caller a secure payment link and order or reservation confirmations, and can alert their own staff to new orders and reservations. It should be read together with our SMS Terms & Conditions and our SMS Opt-In & Consent page.

Information we collect

For the SMS program we collect the mobile phone number a caller provides on the call (so we can text them a payment link or confirmation) and the mobile numbers a restaurant provides for the staff who should receive operational alerts. We also process the details of the order or reservation placed through the restaurant’s Ocrila phone line (such as items, totals, party size, and the amount due) in order to compose each message.

How we use information

Mobile numbers are used solely to deliver transactional messages tied to a specific call: a secure card-payment link and order or reservation confirmations to the caller, and operational order and reservation alerts to restaurant staff. We do not use them for marketing or promotional messaging.

How consent is collected

A caller consents verbally during the phone call, after the AI host asks permission to text them and discloses that rates may apply, before any message is sent. A staff member consents during onboarding, before their number is enrolled. The exact verbal script and the full opt-in flow are documented on our SMS Opt-In & Consent page.

How we share information

We will never sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, other mobile information, or SMS messaging consent with third parties, affiliates, or lead generators. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

To deliver the messages you have opted into, we use one messaging service provider, Twilio, which processes this information solely to transmit those messages on our behalf and may not use it for any other purpose. Twilio is the only third party that ever handles this information, it acts strictly as our service provider, and this is never for marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency and rates

This is transactional messaging tied to a specific order or reservation, so frequency varies with the caller’s own activity and the restaurant’s order and reservation volume. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out

Recipients can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Replying HELP returns support information.

Data retention

We retain a caller’s mobile number only as needed to send and reconcile the payment link or confirmation for their order or reservation, and we retain staff recipient numbers for as long as the restaurant keeps them configured, removing them when the restaurant removes them or closes its account.
